Adsorber-Wheel + Thermal Recuperative Oxidizer (RC-TO)
VOC Concentrator and Thermal Recuperative Oxidizer
WK’s RC-TO combines a zeolite concentrator wheel with a thermal recuperative oxidizer to treat large volumes of exhaust air carrying low concentrations of volatile organic compounds. The VOC concentrator delivers a concentrated stream to the adsorber wheel oxidizer destruction stage, significantly reducing auxiliary fuel consumption compared to treating the full exhaust volume with a standalone TNV. The system applies the same two-stage concentration-then-destruction logic as the RC-RTO configuration, but uses a recuperative thermal oxidizer as the destruction stage rather than a regenerative one.

Energy Recovery Options

As with the standalone TNV, the recuperative oxidizer in the RC-TO configuration can be supplemented with additional downstream energy recovery systems. Secondary heat exchangers can supply recovered thermal energy to process heating circuits, oven boxes, dryers or other heat consumers within the facility. Hot water, steam or thermal oil generation can also be integrated downstream of the primary recuperator where a suitable heat sink exists on site.
The energy recovery potential is proportional to the volume and temperature of the oxidizer exhaust, which in the RC-TO configuration is determined by the concentrated stream volume rather than the full process exhaust flow.
