Engineering and Aftermarket Services

Engineering Services

WK’s engineering capability extends beyond equipment supply. Our multi-disciplinary team works across process, mechanical, electrical and control engineering disciplines to support customers at every stage of the project, from early-stage feasibility through full turnkey delivery.

Process Analysis and Energy Studies

WK conducts detailed process analysis and plant-wide energy studies to identify inefficiencies and define the most technically and economically sound approach to exhaust treatment and energy recovery.

Mass and Energy Balances

Systematic analysis of a specific process or production line to quantify energy flows, identify performance deficiencies and define areas for improvement. Results provide the technical basis for system selection and sizing.

Airflow Studies

Detailed assessment of airflow distribution and process ventilation performance within a facility. Commonly applied in surface coating and paint shop environments where airflow uniformity directly affects product quality and VOC capture efficiency.

Company-Wide Energy Audits

Holistic, plant-wide review of energy consumption and operational costs. WK evaluates the interaction between the exhaust treatment system and the wider production process, identifying opportunities for heat recovery, operational cost reduction and efficiency improvement. In one application, a WK energy audit identified the opportunity to recover waste heat from an installed RTO exhaust stream and redirect it to the facility’s HVAC system, reducing overall plant energy expenditure.

Project Engineering and Turnkey Delivery

All WK systems are designed and engineered on a project-specific basis. WK engages with customers at the earliest stage of a project to develop a solution optimized for the specific exhaust chemistry, flow conditions, thermal profile and regulatory requirements of the application, with energy efficiency of the complete process, not just the abatement system, as a primary design objective.

WK’s turnkey project capability encompasses the full scope of delivery.

  • Process and detailed engineering
  • Equipment design, fabrication and factory testing
  • Control system design and assembly
  • Site installation and mechanical completion
  • Commissioning, startup and performance verification

WK’s engineering and production teams work in close coordination. This integrated structure enables direct control over fabrication quality and allows project changes to be incorporated efficiently without the delays. WK has experience delivering both new installation projects and retrofits of existing systems, with project scope, equipment configuration and delivery schedule defined by the technical and commercial requirements of the project.

Aftermarket Services

Equipment Repairs and On-Site Support

WK’s field service team provides on-site technical support for fault diagnosis, component repair and system restoration. Service activities include inspection of combustion chamber components, heat exchanger assemblies, burner systems, valve trains and control instrumentation, with repair or replacement carried out to original engineering specification.

Media and Component Retrofits

WK provides replacement and retrofit services for heat storage media, catalyst beds and other consumable internal components installed in our Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO), Thermal Recuperative Oxidizer (TNV) and Catalytic Oxidizer systems. Media replacement is based on system performance data and operational history, restoring destruction efficiency and thermal recovery performance to design levels.

Control System and PLC Upgrades

WK’s engineering team provides upgrades to existing control systems and PLC hardware on installed equipment. Upgrades address obsolete components, expand monitoring and data logging capability and can incorporate current safety and functional standards where the original control architecture no longer meets regulatory or operational requirements.

Performance Enhancement and Modernization

For customers seeking to improve the operational performance of existing WK systems, WK’s engineering team conducts technical assessments of installed equipment and develops enhancement programs targeting specific performance objectives. Modernization scopes are defined on a project-specific basis following a formal technical review of the installed system. Objectives include increased destruction efficiency, improved thermal energy recovery, reduced auxiliary fuel consumption and expanded operating capacity.

Spare Parts Supply

WK maintains parts availability for the full range of WK equipment, including combustion components, heat exchanger elements, valve assemblies, instrumentation and control hardware. Parts are supplied to original engineering specification.
